New BASautomation Products at light+building

Light+buildingMarch 2014 - Visit Contemporary Controls at light+building in Frankfurt, Germany, March 30 - April 4 at location 9.0 B49. We'll be showcasing how to complete your BACnet project with solutions that take you from device to the Internet using Sedona and Niagara Framework controllers, Modbus to BACnet gateways, BACnet MS/TP routers and BACnet controllers. Our CTRLink series of wired and wireless IP routers and Ethernet switches complete the connection.

"The BASautomation product line has several new products that help system integrators make a complete, integrated system that is cost effective," said Paul French, EMEA Sales Manager of Contemporary Controls.

For customers who need to establish a connection between BACnet/IP and Modbus networks, the new BASgatewayLX will be on display. The BASgatewayLX connects BACnet/IP Ethernet to Modbus Serial or Modbus TCP. Using the concept of virtual routing, up to 30 Modbus devices appear as individual BACnet devices. Using web pages and a resident database of common Modbus device profiles, Modbus registers can be mapped to BACnet objects.

"With the cooperation of Modbus device manufacturers, we've developed a library of Modbus device profiles that reside within the BASgatewayLX," said Paul French. "Having the library removes a significant burden from the system integrator commissioning the system. Custom device profiles also can be uploaded."

Also on display will be our BASrouterLX High-Performance Router which has MS/TP troubleshooting capability while providing stand-alone routing between BACnet/IP, BACnet Ethernet, and BACnet MS/TP. It supports slave proxy with optional auto-discovery of MS/TP slaves, MS/TP frame capture and storage for use with Wireshark®. It supports foreign device registration and is a BACnet/IP Broadcast Management Device where up to 50 BBMD entries can be made to its Broadcast Distribution Table.

Be sure to see our BAScontrol20, a 20-point BACnet/IP Sedona field controller with a direct connection to an IP/Ethernet network. Ideally suited for structured wiring systems, the BAScontrol20 is BACnet/IP compliant with a B-ASC device profile. Having a resident Sedona Virtual Machine (SVM), the unit is freely programmable using tools such as Niagara Workbench or Sedona Workbench. For remote Ethernet I/O applications, the unit can be configured with minimal effort using a web browser.

Finally, our Scalable Building Strategy utilizes Niagara Framework to integrate a modern device-to-Internet solution for any size project.

We're looking forward to seeing our existing customers and meeting new ones. Be sure to stop by the BACnet Europe stand to say hello.
