BASstat Thermostat Control System

The BASstat is a popular choice for setting up a wired or wireless thermostat control system with BACnet supervision using our BASview3. The BASstat thermostats are designed for BACnet/IP over Wi-Fi or MS/TP multi-stage rooftop unit and analog 4-pipe fan coil units. The BACnet-compliant wired or wireless communicating thermostats ensure effortless integration into BACnet/IP (Wi-Fi) or BACnet MS/TP (EIA-485) networks.

The BASstats have configurable control algorithm parameters allow adaptability to the specific application. For a thermostat connection using BACnet MS/TP over EIA-485, the BAST-221C-B2 wired thermostat model is ideal. EIA-485 wiring can be found in many existing buildings making it perfect for retrofit upgrades without the need to run new wires.

For a thermostat connection using BACnet/IP over a wireless Wi-Fi connection, the BAST-221C-BW2 wireless thermostat model is ideal. It is BACnet/IP connected using a wireless connection to a nearby Wi-Fi router/access point which supports IEEE 802.11b/g/n.

For applications that require modulated control of the fan coil units, the new BAST-421 models can control two analog modulating water valve actuators and one binary supply fan.

A new video, Thermostat Control System, explains how to connect the BASstat thermostats to the BASview3, which is a stand-alone, embedded, web-based graphical interface for building automation and process automation systems. It can be accessed from any web browser – providing supervisory functionality to any BACnet/IP system.
