BASpi a Finalist for BCIA Award

Technical Innovation of the Year – Products

The Building Controls Industry Association (BCIA) Awards are the most prestigious awards in the building energy management sector (BEMS) in the UK. They recognize companies for their innovation, product development, project delivery and training. The 2020 Awards ceremony will be held on Thursday, 30 April 2020, at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole.

Contemporary Controls, committed to open controls, is contributing to building automation by offering controller products under the BASpi name which are powered by the Raspberry Pi. The BASpi-I/O series offers the option of purchasing I/O daughterboards, (also called "hats") which can be mounted onto a Raspberry Pi and combined with our firmware to create a powerful DDC controller. Or, alternately, the BASpi-Edge series of fully enclosed controllers offer enhanced features and Edge functionality. Also powered by the Raspberry Pi, these complete controllers are DIN rail mounted with a 24 VAC/VDC power input and offer a resilient pSLC 8GB micro SD card for data storage. Their performance and convenience advantages make them suitable for a wide array of applications.
