Hands on BASautomation Training

Contemporary Controls will be hosting a two-day BASautomation training session at the College of DuPage (COD) in Glen Ellyn, Illinois April 7-8, 2020. The training will focus on what you need to know to apply our BASautomation products in real-world applications. Our goal is to help you "Build on BACnet" for your building automation and energy management systems. The hands-on training will include:

  • An introduction to BACnet networked DDC Controllers
  • Interfacing to Input/Output devices such as sensors, switches, motors, dampers, etc.
  • Creating applications using wire sheets and powerful drag-and-drop function blocks
  • Routers and their ability to route messages between BACnet/IP, BACnet Ethernet, and BACnet MS/TP networks
  • Gateways, which can provide an interface to "foreign" devices (such as Modbus) and allow them to appear as part of the BACnet network
  • Using BASview supervisor to provide a visual interface to your process
  • Obtaining secure remote access to your job site using Virtual Private Networking (VPN)

The training at COD will take place in the state-of-the-art HVACR lab, located in the Technical Education Center (TEC) on the college campus and led by an industry expert in DDC sequence of operation programming, mechanical HVACR equipment, BACnet. In addition, Contemporary Controls staff will be present during the sessions to answer any technical or product questions as well as assist students in understanding core concepts of the training topics. The goal is to give participants a good grasp of how to facilitate a robust and low-cost HVACR/BAS automation system with controller programming, network integration, building supervision, and secure remote access. COD is conveniently located in DuPage County, one of the collar counties of the Chicago metropolitan area. It is a short ride from both Midway and O'Hare airports, with numerous hotel and dining options nearby.
