Have Joe Do Your Work for You

BASgatewayLXDecember 2016 - We keep reading about "easy" Modbus to BACnet gateways, but our competitors still require the user to make their own device profiles on a point-by-point basis, which can take hours of development time when you are trying to integrate a Modbus device into a BACnet inter-network. We have a much better solution for our customers - have Joe do the work!

Using our BASgatewayLX to integrate Modbus devices can't get any easier because our sales manager, Joe Stasiek, has developed a Modbus Device Profile Library for more than 100 popular product models. And if your product model isn't in the library, all it takes is a call to Joe to have that profile to be created.

Having Joe create the device profile relieves you of developing the Modbus point list, so you don't have to be concerned about double wide reads and writes and high/low reads vs. low/high. Joe takes care of all of that, allowing you to just download the profile into the BASgatewayLX and check off only the registers that need to be scanned.

Up to 30 Modbus devices - the same type or different - can be scanned by each BASgatewayLX using a technique call virtual routing. Each connected Modbus device appears as a virtual BACnet device. Up to 1,000 registers can be marked for scanning. It is simple and effective.

For the systems integrators who want the capability to make their own profiles or modify profiles in the field, we have published an application note that defines the data format we use when developing device profiles.

Visit the BASgatewayLX product page to learn more or view our Device Profiles Library to see if your model is already included.
