First BACnet Forum for the Asia Pacific Region

BACnet ForumNovember 2011 - Contemporary Controls will be exhibiting at the first BACnet Forum for the Asia Pacific Region, which will be held in Hong Kong on November 10, 2011. The show is focused on APAC's rapidly growing building automation industry and the development of the BACnet open communication standard. The theme of the forum is Green Buildings Speak BACnet – Sustainable Building Automation in Construction and Refurbishment. The event will be hosted by the BACnet Interest Groups AustralAsia (BIG-AA), Europe (BIG-EU), China (BIG-CN) and BACnet International (BI). The two previous BACnet Forums in Asia were held in Beijing and Shanghai.

"Participating in the first BACnet Forum for the Asia-Pacific region allows us to demonstrate our shared purpose of promoting BACnet as a solution for sustainable buildings," said Jason Peng, Product Manager at Contemporary Controls (Suzhou) Ltd. "We have several products in our BASautomation line that support BACnet while providing a convenient method of integrating other protocols such as Modbus in BACnet building automation systems." Contemporary Controls is a platinum sponsor of this event.

Contemporary Controls' BASautomation product line helps integrate non-compliant devices to BACnet/IP. Once on Ethernet, the CTRLink family, with its collection of IP infrastructure products, completes the connectivity process.

At the forum, Contemporary Controls' CTRLink Ethernet products will be displayed, allowing visitors to see the opportunities for seamless integration of BACnet equipment from different BACnet vendors. The CTRLink product line includes managed and unmanaged switches, media converters, wired and wireless IP routers.

In addition, the popular BAS router will be displayed at the forum. The BAS Router supports three-way routing between BACnet/IP, BACnet Ethernet and BACnet MS/TP. Any two or all three protocols can be routed. As an aid to troubleshooting, a diagnostic page will display the number of messages received and sent for each of the protocols supported.
