BASautomation Line Demonstrated at 2011 Niagara Mini Summit

Cochrane Mini-SummitMay 2011 - Contemporary Controls will be demonstrating its BASautomation product line at Cochrane Supply & Engineering's bi-annual Niagara Mini Summit at the Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, June 2-3.

The mini-summit is an invitation-only event for Cochrane customers, most of whom are extremely knowledgeable about Tridium's Niagara Framework and Sedona Framework product lines. This year, Cochrane is celebrating 10 years of cooperation and collaboration with Tridium.

BASautomation – Building on BACnet represents Contemporary Controls' commitment to building automation consisting of BACnet routers, Modbus to BACnet gateways and Powered by Sedona Framework controllers. Also being demonstrated is the company's CTRLink line of Ethernet for Automation products which include managed and unmanaged switches, media converters, wired and wireless IP routers.

"The BAS Remote is always popular at the mini summit," said Joe Stasiek, Sales Manager at Contemporary Controls. "With the addition of a Sedona virtual machine, the BAS Remote gains controller capability and can communicate seamlessly to a Tridium JACE supervisory controller using the SOX protocol over IP/Ethernet."

The BAS Remote Master incorporates Sedona Virtual Machine (SVM) technology developed by Tridium and compatible with their Niagara Framework™. Using established Tridium tools such as Workbench, a system integrator can develop a control application using Workbench's powerful drag-and-drop visual programming methodology. Once developed, the program remains stored in the BAS Remote Master and executes by way of the SVM. The application can run standalone in the BAS Remote Master or interact with a program in a Tridium JACE supervisory controller over Ethernet. The number of potential applications is only limited by the imagination of the system integrator.

In addition to the BAS Remote, Contemporary Controls will demonstrate the company's BACnet/IP to MS/TP portable and fixed BAS Routers and communicating thermostats. Because Cochrane's select audience is familiar with both Tridium's products and Contemporary Controls' Ethernet products, Contemporary Controls gains valuable insight and feedback about the company's products in the field.
