BASpi IO Firmware

BASpi IO boards are compatible with Raspberry Pi 3 or 4. The latest BASpi and BASpiAO2 image files have been updated to Raspberry Pi OS (32-bit) - A port of Debian with Raspberry Pi Desktop Released 2021-01-11 with full support for Raspberry Pi 4. The ready-to-burn micro SD card image (Raspbian with Desktop + BASpi firmware files) is provided for each BASpi IO model as a download below (Method A). Follow our software installation guide to burn the BASpi image on your micro SD card.

Optionally, if you already have Raspbian with Desktop Operating System running on your Raspberry Pi 3 or 4 and simply want to install the BASpi firmware files on your existing system, the standalone firmware files for each BASpi IO model are also provided as downloads below (Method B). Follow our software installation guide to install the BASpi firmware files on your Raspberry Pi.

Two BASpi-IO models exist (BASpi-IO6U6R or BASpi-IO6U4R2A), make sure to select the correct firmware file or image for your board:

Choose the firmware installation method that best fits your system.

  • Method A
    If you have a blank micro SD card and want to set up a new system (Raspbian + BASpi):
    ZIP file: BASpi-1.0.33-Image.zip
  • Method B
    If you already have Raspbian with Desktop Operating System installed on your Raspberry Pi and simply want to install the BASpi firmware files on your system:
    ZIP file: BASpi-1.0.33-Firmware.zip

Choose the firmware installation method that best fits your system.

  • Method A
    If you have a blank micro SD card and want to set up a new system (Raspbian + BASpi):
    ZIP file: BASpiAO2-1.0.33-Image.zip
  • Method B
    If you already have Raspbian with Desktop Operating System installed on your Raspberry Pi and simply want to install the BASpi firmware files on your system:
    ZIP file: BASpiAO2-1.0.33-Firmware.zip

BASpi-IO Firmware Upgrade

If you already have a BASpi-IO board running older version of the firmware, you can easily update your system. To update and preserve you project, simply use BASbackup project archive utility to backup your BASpi project first. Then you have the option of completely erasing the micro SD card and burning the new image on it (Method A), or you can manually unzip and install the stand-alone firmware files by replacing the old firmware files (Method B). Method A is recommended, but Method B is helpful if you have other applications running on your Raspberry Pi, this method is for users familiar with the Linux OS.
